Welcome to Alumah. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Alumah website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Alumah provides tools and resources for personal reflection, journaling, mindfulness, and well-being. Some features may require account creation.
2. Privacy, Data Use, and User Content
2.1 No Sale or Sharing of Personal Data or Journal Content
Alumah does not and will not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information, journal entries, or other content for advertising, marketing, or commercial purposes.
2.2 Ownership of User Content
Any journal entries, notes, or personal content you create within Alumah remain your property. You grant Alumah a limited, revocable license to store and process this content solely to provide the Service (including syncing, backups, search, and support). We do not read, analyze, or use your journal content for any other purpose.
2.3 Use of Personal Information
We collect minimal information needed to operate the Service, such as an email address, IP address, and device information. We use this data to authenticate users, maintain security, deliver functionality, and improve performance. We do not use your information for targeted advertising or allow third parties to access it for marketing.

3.1 Accuracy of Information
You must provide accurate account information and keep it updated.
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for any activity occurring under your account.
3.3 Unauthorized Access
You agree to notify Alumah immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
3.4 How to Delete Your Account and Data
If you wish to delete your Alumah account, you may do so at any time. Deleting your account will permanently remove your profile, personal information, and all stored journal content from our systems. Below are the steps for deleting your account:

Alumah may suspend or restrict access to users who violate these rules.
All Service materials, including text, design, graphics, logos, and software, are the property of Alumah or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works unless expressly permitted.
Your personal journal content remains your property at all times.
The Service may integrate with third-party tools or analytics providers. These services may process limited technical data required for functionality. They do not receive access to your personal journal entries or personal information for advertising or marketing.
The Service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. Alumah does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
The Service does not provide medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice and is not a substitute for professional care.
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in such cases, the limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Alumah, its officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, losses, liabilities, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or misuse the platform.
You may terminate your account at any time by following the deletion steps listed in Section 3.4.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota.
