We built the app we wished existed

The right tools can change how we move through the world.

Alumah was born from lived experience. Much of our energy is spent managing the outer world, work, relationships, obligations. Alumah exists for the part that makes all of that possible: our inner world.

What we believe in

We believe that caring for your inner life shapes how you live your outer one—with greater clarity, courage, and alignment to who you truly are.

Integrity of the Inner Life

What happens within you is personal and worthy of protection. Your reflections, journaling, and practice are treated with privacy and respect, always.

Return

We believe in the quiet practice of returning—to yourself, to presence, and to what matters. It doesn't have to be perfect. Only that you keep coming back, consistently.

KATIE MEDNICK, ALUMAH FOUNDER

About Katie

Katie Mednick is a founder and TEDx speaker who built and led a software company in a legacy industry, growing it into a North American leader before exiting in 2025.

Today, she works with leaders navigating growth, transition, and reinvention—drawing from lived experience to support decision-making, trust, and long-term thinking.

Why Alumah exists

Alumah didn’t begin as an idea. It began as a need.

Building in uncertainty

Before Alumah, Katie Mednick built and led a software company in a legacy industry—navigating growth, complexity, and high-stakes decisions without clear answers. It was work that required trust, clarity, and the ability to lead through uncertainty—often without perfect information.

A moment that changed everything

There came a point where Katie was at a crossroads. Not a business decision, but a deeply personal one that would affect every part of her life. To make it, she had to find the esteem to trust her own inner knowing, and the clarity that when she listened to it, it would work out.

The role of practice

That clarity didn’t come all at once. For her, it was supported over time—through reflection, guidance, and a consistent practice of returning.

Why Alumah exists

Alumah was created to make that kind of space more accessible—
a place to return, to reflect, and to care for the part of life that shapes everything else.

The people behind the practice

The coaches, teachers, and practitioners whose work lives inside the app, to support your inner life.
